Rehab Hub FAQs

We hope to be able to answer your questions here, but please Contact Us with anything else that you need. We will be happy to help.

About Your Appointment

How do I know what service I need, or which Practitioner to see?

Sports Therapists and Sports Rehabilitators treat both sports and non-sports people. They possess in-depth knowledge of the mechanisms behind injury – whether in sport or day-to-day life, and have extensive knowledge of musculoskeletal dysfunction and pathologies.

Physiotherapists have a very broad knowledge base and medical background/experience. Their skillset enables them to treat the widest variety of injuries, illnesses and diseases with their comprehensive knowledge and treatment options.

Osteopathy involves the use of touch, physical manipulation, stretching and massage to increase the mobility of joints, relieve muscle tension, enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues, and to help your body’s own healing mechanisms.

We each have our own professional discipline along with additional training, expertise and interest. You can read about each Practitioner here.

You can Contact Us if you need to discuss your potential treatment, or call and speak to a clinician who can determine how best to help.

How do I prepare for my appointment, and what should I bring with me?

Ensure you have completed both your Triage Form and Consent Form for your first session, sent to you via email. This gives us the info we need to prepare for seeing you. Have a good think about the history of your pain or problem and make notes if you need to.

  • Bring any relevant letters or information about scans if possible.
  • Please be advised that to assess and treat you effectively, it is likely that you will be required to undress to your underwear. You are welcome to bring shorts if you would prefer.
  • In many cases we will need to watch you move and prescribe exercises for you. You should therefore wear exercise clothing or a comfortable loose-fitting outfit.
  • Ladies – no sports bras please, if we are treating your upper body it makes access to your back and shoulders difficult.
  • If you are a sportsperson, we may need to see your running / training shoes so please bring these with you on the day.

About Your Treatment

What will treatment sessions involve?

Each practitioner has their own professional discipline with additional training, expertise, and interest which you can read more about within their practitioner profile. However, every initial treatment session involves a thorough assessment appropriate to the type of problem that you’re experiencing and the nature and background of your symptoms. We always aim to provide treatment in your first session, depending on the complexity of your problem.

Treatment sessions may involve the following modalities:

  • Soft tissue massage
  • Joint mobilisations
  • Exercise therapy
  • Taping and strapping
  • Therapeutic Ultrasound
  • Myofascial release techniques
  • Dry Needling or acupuncture
  • Talking therapy; pain management, goal setting, etc.

How will I feel after my session, and are there things that I shouldn’t do?

This question, and others that may find helpful is answered in our article ‘Your first visit to the Hub’.

How do I get the most from my treatment sessions?

This question, and others that may find helpful is answered in our article ‘Your first visit to the Hub’.

How many sessions will I need?

Everyone is different. The same problem or diagnosis in different people would not mean that they heal and progress in the same way. For this reason we will never tell you how many sessions you will need. Instead, we will outline how we feel your recovery will progress and what you can do to positively influence this.

We work on a session by session basis, and we are mindful of your expenditure.

Parking & Finding Us

Is there parking on site?

There is plenty of parking on site. We have spaces outside our front door on a first-come first-served basis, plus spaces in the main car park marked ‘Rehab Hub’ and ‘Visitors’. If you have difficulty walking and need a space reserving by the front door just Contact Us.

What is your address?

Our address is Rehab Hub Ltd. Unit 3B Stratton Park, Biggleswade, Beds. SG18 8QS. You can then take a seat and make yourself comfortable five minutes ahead of your appointment time. We do not operate a full-time reception, but we will be aware that you have arrived and your Practitioner will collect you for your session.

Do you have disabled access and disabled parking?

If you are a blue badge holder, or if you have difficulty walking and need a space reserving by the front door please Contact Us in advance of your appointment.

We have a fully accessible ground floor gym and treatment rooms with a zero-rise front door.

Regrettably we currently do not have a disabled toilet.

Pricing & Discounts

How much do sessions cost?

Pricing for all our sessions is located here.

Full payment is due at time of treatment and should be made by credit/debit card or device. We are unable to accept cash or cheques.

Do you offer discounts if I pay for multiple sessions?

We do not offer discounts or block purchases for treatment sessions. We believe that is not ethical to encourage multiple session bundles for people in pain as every patient heals and progresses in differing ways.

Do you offer discounts for seniors, NHS, or students?

We do not offer discounts for any groups of people. We believe that all patients in pain deserve fair pricing across the board.

NHS & Health Insurance Patients

Do you see NHS patients?

We do not take NHS patients – we work with self-funding patients only.

However, if you are waiting for an NHS physiotherapy appointment or are currently seeing an NHS professional we are able to see you privately. In this instance it is important that you let us know ahead of your initial session.

I am waiting for an NHS appointment. Can I see you instead or at the same time?

If you are waiting for an NHS physiotherapy appointment or are currently seeing n NHS professional we are able to see you privately. In this instance it is important that you let us know ahead of your initial session.

I have Health Insurance, can that cover the cost of my sessions?

Some Health Insurance companies (particularly those with ‘cash plans’) allow you to reclaim the cost of treatment after you have made payment. If it is your intention to reclaim the cost of your sessions, you must check with your provider that your individual practitioner is a member of a professional body that they recognise. All our practitioners have appropriate professional membership and insurance, but different providers recognise different bodies.

Rehab Hub is not directly registered with any health insurance companies, which means that we cannot reclaim the cost of treatment on your behalf. Full payment is due at the time of treatment.

Let us know if you intend on claiming the cost of your session and we will provide you with any practitioner details you may need, in advance of your appointment.

Your practitioner will email a treatment receipt within 48 hours of your appointment so that you can reclaim.

Policies

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel free of charge until 24 hours before the date and time of your session. With regret we must insist that full payment is due should you cancel within 24 hours of your session, or if you miss your appointment.

What is your Covid policy?

  • You must notify us ahead of your appointment should you develop any Covid or common cold symptoms, or if you test positive for Covid.
  • You need not wear a mask to your appointment unless you wish to do so.
  • You can tell us if you would like your Practitioner to wear a mask for your treatment session.
  • We continue to ventilate rooms between patients, and fully sanitise.

We hope to have been able to answer your questions here, but please Contact Us with anything else that you need. We will be happy to help.
